Third Chakra~ Manipura

The Third Chakra has Fire as its element and with it comes choice, action, vitality, and will. In this chakra we explore personal power; is it to empower oneself, or is it to have power over others? Manipura chakra is an important energy center for the awakening of kundalini is concerned. It is the center of dynamism, energy, will and achievement. Often experts compare this chakra to the sun’s heat and power. There is no life on earth without sun; it provides energy to this planet. Similarly, Manipura chakra provides pranic energy to the human body. It works as an energy transformer provides energy absorbed through the food.

Location: in-between the sternum bone and the navel (Solar Plexus). Here we have a connection via umbilical cord with this material world during birth.
Color: Yellow indicates positive magnetic vibration and act as nerve tonic. It also influences the higher mind & soul, inspiring & stimulating. Golden yellow is the color of intellect.
Animal: Goat, ram
Shape: Triangle, downward pointing.
Sense: Sight
When Unbalanced: May have digestion-related problems such as gas pains, irritable bowel, constipation, intestinal tumors, colon diseases, diarrhea, hernias, stomach ulcers, food allergies, liver problems, hepatitis, anorexia, bulimia, gallstones, diabetes, pancreatitis, muscle cramps, spasm, and difficulty breathing. Other physical symptoms are high cholesterol, skin disorders, chronic tiredness, cramps, knee pains, arthritis, sciatica, and low back pain. Psychological and Emotional problems are lacked of self-esteem, dependency, arrogance, anxiety, timid, depression, fear of rejection, lack of confidence, inability to take decisions self-condemnation, aggression and hostility.
When Balanced: Can provide physical energy, good digestion, and vitality. The functions of the digestion, assimilation and metabolism all work together in a harmony. Emotionally trust their instincts, self-esteem, confident, independence, intelligent, decisive, productive, mental focus, and identity.

Soul Lesson: Empowerment
Goals: First, to activate the energy at navel, then to have navel automatically engaged so that it spontaneously activates to generate the energy we need throughout the day.. When this state is achieved, we breathe deeply and automatically.
Practices: Leg lifts, Stretch pose, Sat Kriya, Camel pose, Bow pose, Horse stance, Breathing pumping the navel.
Sound: (रं) “RAM,” pronounce as RANG. ‘R’ sound produces with the tongue tip curling up to touch the mouth roof. The sound originates from the navel when repeated in a proper manner RAANNNGGGG.
Essential Oils: peppermint, cinnamon, sage and ginger
Crystals: Citrine, Yellow Jasper, Tiger's Eye, Golden/yellow Calcite, Amber, and Sunstone, Golden Lemurian, Malachite, Topaz.
Mudra: Matangi Mudra: Join hands in front of the Solar Plexus (stomach area), raise both middle fingers and Support them into each other. Interleaving the fingers, in case of women cross the left thumb on the right thumb, and vice versa in men. Observe breathing in the stomach region. This mudra benefits the heart, stomach, liver, duodenum, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and kidneys. It is a good choice for recuperation (recover from sickness or exhaustion), gathering energy, harmony and becoming perfectly centered. This Mudra brings inner harmony and self-confidence. It calms the mind and center.
Bandha: Uddiyana bandha; this is otherwise called as an abdominal lock. Sit in a meditation pose, close eyes, place palms on the knees, relax your body, exhale completely, and keep the breath out. Now pull your abdominal muscles (sucking action of the muscle) inward and upward as you can. Hold this lock for as long as you can retain the breath outside. Slowly relax your abdominal muscles and inhale. When your respiration normalizes, you can repeat the bandha up to ten times. This will stimulate and harmonizes the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach, small intestine and large intestine.
Reflexology: If you are feeling anxious, fear, anger, or sorrow, which indicates some imbalance in the solar Plexus. You can re-balance it by stimulating certain point. Solar Plexus reflex point in the foot is in the center, just at the dent below the big and the first little toes. Massage this point by gently kneading with your thumbs for about 30-seconds (slow count up to 30). Solar Plexus reflexology point in the hand is in the palm center at the dent. Stimulate this reflex point by kneading with your other hand thumb for about 30 seconds. This technique has a grounding effect and encourages stability and calm. This is useful when you feel nervous such as just before an exam, interview, or official meeting.
